The Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) on Monday held a decoration ceremony for four senior officers who were recently promoted to new ranks.

The event, which took place in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, was presided over by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Babatola Afolabi Adeniyi.

The promotions, as gathered by our reporter, were approved by the Police Service Commission following a recommendation by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

Among those promoted was DCP Mu’awuya Halilu, formerly the Assistant Commissioner of Operations for Zone 3, who now serves as the Deputy Commissioner of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Nasarawa State. Other officers decorated include CSP Mahmud Shehu, DSP Solomon Emmanuel, and DSP Cecilia Gujiva.

In his remarks, AIG Adeniyi congratulated the promoted officers and their families, emphasizing that they are ambassadors of the Nigerian Police Force.

He urged them to carry out their duties within the confines of the law and in line with the responsibilities of their new ranks.

The AIG also expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, PhD, NPM, the Police Service Commission, and the Force Management Team for their dedication to improving the welfare of officers.

Our correspondent reports that the ceremony highlighted the commitment of the Nigerian Police Force to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of its members.
