NYSC Swearing-In: Your Safety Is Our Priority – Governor Fintiri Assures Corps Members in Adamawa

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Friday, April 25, 2025, held the swearing-in ceremony for Batch A, Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
A total of 935 male and 396 female corps members took the oath of allegiance, administered by Hon. Justice Christopher Dominic Mepeo on behalf of the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman.
Representing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the event, Deputy Governor Kaletapwa George Farauta reassured the new corps members that their safety and welfare remain a top priority for the state government.
He emphasized the administration’s commitment to creating a secure and enabling environment for them during their service year.
Governor Fintiri also highlighted the recent increment in the corps members’ monthly allowance as a deliberate move to cushion the impact of economic hardship, encouraging them to take full advantage of available opportunities during their service.
He urged the corps members to actively participate in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, stressing the importance of self-reliance and job creation in the current economic climate. He added that Adamawa warmly welcomes corps members and considers them as part of its own family.
In her remarks, the Adamawa State NYSC Coordinator, Osoroh Caroline Chinedu, who represented the NYSC Director-General, described the orientation course as a vital phase in the service year.
She encouraged full participation in camp activities and praised the corps members for their discipline and cooperation since the beginning of the orientation.
Osoroh also commended the state government for its continued support, particularly in augmenting meals for corps members and camp officials. She assured that corps members would be posted across all local government areas in the state to serve.
Speaking to the press, several corps members expressed delight with their posting to Adamawa, describing the state as a “home away from home.” They pledged to contribute positively to their host communities and thanked Governor Fintiri for adopting them as honorary citizens of the state.
