Police Commissioner Unveils Security Action Plan for Peaceful Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations in Adamawa

In a bid to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration across Adamawa State, the Commissioner of Police, l Dankombo Morris, on Thursday convened a strategic meeting with top police officials and commanders to map out a robust security plan for the festive period.

The meeting, which took place at the Police Officers’ Mess in Yola, brought together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments, and tactical unit leaders. Discussions focused on reviewing existing security frameworks and deploying additional measures to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration throughout the state.

Addressing the officers, Morris directed an increase in surveillance operations and visibility patrols at critical locations, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, highways, and other public spaces.

He stressed the importance of proactive intelligence gathering, inter-agency collaboration, and strong community engagement to thwart any potential security threats.

“The festive period demands heightened vigilance and professionalism. Officers deployed must uphold the highest standards of conduct, respect human rights, and prioritize community-friendly policing,” the Commissioner said.

The Command also reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding lives and property, encouraging residents to celebrate Eid in peace and harmony. Citizens were urged to remain law-abiding and vigilant, and to promptly report suspicious activities to the police via the emergency hotlines provided
