Senator Binos Distributes 945 Bags of Grains to Constituents as NEMA Aids Flood Victims in Adamawa South

In a continued effort to support his constituents, Senator (Rev) Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, has launched the fifth phase of his grain distribution initiative, donating a total of 945 bags of grains across the nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the district.
Each LGA received 55 bags of maize and 50 bags of rice, bringing the total distribution to 495 bags of maize and 450 bags of rice.
The initiative, which Senator Binos personally funded, is part of his ongoing efforts to alleviate the impact of recent hardships, particularly in the aftermath of severe flooding that affected communities across the region.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Senator Binos said the intervention was timed to meet the growing needs of his constituents, especially as many communities continue to recover from the devastating floods.
“One of the reasons why I decided to distribute these bags of grains is because NEMA brought some food and non-food items to be distributed to flood victims across five communities in Adamawa South. I felt others, too, should not be left out, as nearly all households across the nine LGAs were affected by the disaster,” he explained.
The distribution follows the recent outreach by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which delivered relief materials to victims of flooding in Vulpi, Bolki, and Salti communities in Numan LGA, and Mararaba Labbare and Sebore Teneke in Mayo-Belwa LGA.
The NEMA intervention, facilitated by Senator Binos, included bags of maize, rice, cartons of spaghetti, and vegetable oil, among other essentials. The effort was coordinated in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) following a joint assessment of the flood’s impact.
An official from the NEMA Yola Operations Office, Mr. Abdulkadiri Mahmud, praised the Senator’s proactive involvement, saying:
“Senator Binos Yaroe has shown a deep commitment to the wellbeing of his people. His personal contribution of grains is a significant gesture that complements the Agency’s relief efforts.”
Local government representatives, who received the grains for onward distribution, lauded the Senator for his compassion and transparency. Hon. (Mrs) Marilyn Danbabayi of Demsa LGA noted that mechanisms had been put in place to ensure the grains reach the most vulnerable members of society, in line with the Senator’s directive.
Mr. Abubakar Usman, representative of Jada LGA, confirmed that this is the fifth round of such distributions in 2025, emphasizing that new beneficiaries would be prioritized to ensure equitable distribution.
Flood victims across the affected communities expressed their gratitude. Daniel Makwada and Alex Amakildo, community leaders from Salti and Bolki respectively, thanked both NEMA and the Senator for their timely intervention.
As the region continues to rebuild from recent natural disasters, Senator Binos reaffirmed his commitment to standing with his people, pledging continued support through both personal and governmental initiatives.
