‎Over 1,000 rural farmers across Adamawa South Senatorial District have benefited from a fertilizer distribution programme aimed at boosting food production and supporting dry season farming.

The intervention, facilitated by Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe in partnership with Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited and the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), saw the distribution of 1,100 bags of NPK and UREA fertilizer to farmers from the district’s nine local government areas.

The event, tagged “Lot: (B311) BCDA 2025 Capital Project”, took place over the weekend at the Binos Skills Acquisition Centre in Mayo-Belwa LGA. It is part of Senator Binos’ broader commitment to agricultural empowerment and food security in the region.

According to the CEO of Alkaf Global, Madam Bilkisu Ibrahim, eight LGAs received 120 bags each, while Mayo-Belwa LGA received 140 bags. She commended Senator Binos for his consistent drive to improve rural livelihoods, noting that the transparent distribution process further strengthens public trust.

As part of the initiative, five first-class traditional rulers from the senatorial district also received 10 bags of fertilizer each, in recognition of their efforts in promoting peace and unity.

‎Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Senator Binos, represented by Mr. Boniface Katawan, reaffirmed his dedication to uplifting farmers and ensuring they benefit from democratic dividends. He highlighted the numerous empowerment programmes carried out in collaboration with Alkaf, including recent distributions of rice and maize and free medical outreach.

The representative of BCDA, Mr. Stephen Daniel, praised Senator Binos for his “unmatched dedication” to grassroots development, describing him as “the best Senator in the red chamber.”

‎Local government representatives expressed gratitude for the intervention and pledged transparent distribution to intended beneficiaries. Among them were Dauda Wilson (Jada LGA), Elishama Thomas (Shelleng LGA), and Abubakar Audu (Toungo LGA).
‎
The fertilizer distribution is the latest in a series of development-oriented initiatives by Senator Binos, who has continued to prioritize health, food security, and youth empowerment in Adamawa South.
