Alhaji Hamza Madagali has been elected as the new chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, following a successful state congress held on Saturday in Yola, the state capital.
Madagali will lead the party’s affairs alongside Mr. Saleh Sheleng, who was elected as the new state secretary. Both officials will serve a four-year term.
The congress, which was overseen by the PDP Congress Committee Chairman for Adamawa State, Mr. David Lorhenba, saw the participation of 2,656 delegates from the state’s 21 local government areas. In total, 39 party officials were elected during the exercise.
Speaking after the event, Lorhenba praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the delegates, describing the congress as “very successful.”
“All the delegates from the 21 local government areas cast their votes peacefully, and the winners have been announced without incident,” he said.
The outcome marks a new phase for the PDP in Adamawa as the party positions itself ahead of future political engagements in the state.
