By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola
A tricycle rider has been arrested by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) under the Adamawa State Police Command, following a social media post alleging he snatched a purse containing over ₦100,000.
The incident came to light after one Jennifer Emmanuel took to her Facebook page to report that her purse had been stolen by a Keke Napep (tricycle) operator.
Acting swiftly on the report, police investigators tracked down and apprehended the suspect.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, an investigation into the case is currently underway, after which the matter will be charged to court.
The Command urged members of the public to promptly report criminal incidents at the nearest police station rather than solely relying on social media. Early reporting, the police say, enables a faster response and helps ensure justice is served.
