Adamawa Police Command Highlights Third Quarter Achievements, Urges Officers to Uphold Professionalism

The Adamawa State Police Command has reported significant successes in the third quarter of the year, attributing the relative peace and stability across the state to enhanced professionalism and ongoing internal reforms within the force.

Speaking during the third-quarter review and an interactive session with Heads of Departments (HODs) and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) at the Police Headquarters in Yola, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to fairness, justice, and impartiality.

He noted that the progress achieved so far was the result of strategic operations and the dedication of personnel, emphasizing the need to sustain momentum in order to maintain public trust and security.

“As a Command, our mandate remains clear — to serve and protect with integrity,” Morris stated. “We are committed to entrenching professionalism, respect for human rights, and accountability in all our operations. These values are central to restoring and strengthening public confidence in policing.”

The Commissioner commended officers for their resilience and hard work but urged them to remain focused and ethical in their conduct. “I appreciate the doggedness shown so far, but we must redouble our efforts to safeguard the state, uphold ethical standards, and shun brutality, corruption, or any act that tarnishes our noble profession,” he said.

He also called on residents of the state to remain security-conscious and continue supporting the police through the “See Something, Say Something” initiative, stressing that community participation remains a vital tool in crime prevention.

The review meeting comes as part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to assess performance, address emerging security challenges, and foster a stronger bond between the police and the communities they serve.
