SDP Dissolves Adamawa State Executive, Appoints 90-Day Caretaker Committee

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has announced the dissolution of its Adamawa State Working Committee, replacing it with a 90-day Caretaker Committee to oversee the party’s affairs in the state.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye, the NWC said the decision followed a comprehensive review of developments within the Adamawa State Chapter.
According to the statement, the newly constituted Caretaker Committee is tasked with reorganizing the party’s structure, mobilizing new members, and ensuring the effective coordination of party activities in the lead-up to future elections.
The committee is also expected to submit monthly progress reports to the National Vice Chairman (North East) and the National Chairman.
Leading the interim committee is Paul Ahundana, who will serve as Acting State Chairman. Mohammed Abdulrahman has been named Acting State Secretary. Other key members of the committee include Hon. Salihu Aliyu (Deputy Chairman), Dr. Zion Maina (Organising Secretary), Alhaji Saidu Mohammed (Treasurer), and Mrs. Malia Sanweri (Financial Secretary), among others.
The party emphasized that the committee’s tenure would last 90 days from the date of the appointment letter or until further directives are issued by the NWC.
Dr. Agunloye congratulated the appointees and urged them to study the party’s constitution thoroughly while upholding the core values of good governance and social justice, which he described as the bedrock of the SDP.
Official letters regarding the committee’s constitution have been forwarded to relevant authorities, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The SDP’s National Secretariat is located at No. 17 Nairobi Street, Off Parakou Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to progress, good governance, and social justice.
