SNB President Urges Journalists to Embrace Digital Skills

Professor Umar Pate,the National President of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB), has made a call to journalists and media professionals in the country to adapt to the fast-changing digital landscape or risk being left behind.
Speaking at a roundtable discussion with members of the SNB in Yola, Professor Pate stressed the urgent need for media practitioners to embrace innovation, initiative, and imagination in their work.
He noted that rapid technological advancement is reshaping the broadcasting industry, making digital literacy and adaptability essential skills for survival and growth.
He encouraged members to stay abreast of global trends, participate in local and international conferences, and continuously build their capacity to remain competitive.
According to him, SNB is committed to re-skilling, retooling, and re-equipping its members with modern broadcasting techniques that will enable them to operate effectively on a global stage.
Pate also called on media executives to lead the charge by embracing technological innovations that are redefining the structure and appeal of modern broadcasting.
He emphasized that the future of the industry depends on how quickly and effectively professionals align with digital transformation.
