PDP Adamawa Kicks Off New Era with First Executive Committee Meeting Under New Chairman

By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has taken a significant step toward strengthening its political structures with the hosting of its first Executive Committee meeting under the leadership of its newly elected State Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Alhaji Bello.

The strategic meeting, held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the party’s state secretariat in Yola, signaled the beginning of what party leaders described as a “renewed era of unity, inclusiveness, and strategic political repositioning” ahead of upcoming elections.

The high-level gathering drew together members of the State Working Committee, local government chairmen, youth and women leaders, and other critical stakeholders from all 21 local government areas.

Discussions focused on strengthening internal party structures, deepening grassroots engagement, and fostering stronger coordination among members.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Bello expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by party members, pledging to lead with transparency and inclusiveness.

“Our mission is clear to restore full confidence in the PDP family, consolidate our gains, and ensure that the party remains the preferred choice for the people of Adamawa State,” he declared.

Bello also underscored the party’s longstanding legacy in the state, reaffirming support for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration and emphasizing PDP’s commitment to people-centered governance, infrastructure development, and social inclusion.

Speaking after the meeting, the State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Victor Dogo, described the session as “fruitful and forward-looking,” noting that the new leadership had set a clear action plan.
“The party will protect the interest of all members and will begin with reconciliation,” he said, signaling a direct response to recent internal frictions and defections to other political parties.

Dogo expressed optimism about the party’s strength and future prospects, declaring that PDP is not only determined to retain Adamawa but also to reclaim national power in 2027.

As part of its immediate agenda, the party inaugurated several committees tasked with reviewing organizational structures, strengthening communication between state and local branches, and mobilizing new members with a particular focus on youth and women participation.

Other key officials, including the State Secretary and Women Leader, lauded Bello’s proactive approach, urging members to close ranks and prioritize unity over internal divisions. Stakeholders at the meeting described the session as a “positive signal” of renewed energy and strategic direction for the PDP in Adamawa.
