The Chairman of Shelleng Local Government Council, Abubakar Musa Abba, has urged newly inaugurated executives of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at both the local government and ward levels to prioritize unity and harmony among members as the party sets its sights on victory in the 2027 general elections.
Abubakar made the call during the inauguration ceremony of the new PDP executives held at the ADSUBEB Hall in Shelleng. In his remarks, he congratulated the officials on their election and reminded them of their responsibility to strengthen the party’s structure and sustain its dominance in the area.
He stressed that the essence of their election is to foster unity, love, and collective progress among members at both ward and local levels. According to him, “Our coming together as executives should not only strengthen PDP in Shelleng but also contribute to its success in Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The chairman advised the new executives to respect one another’s roles and avoid unhealthy interference in each other’s responsibilities. He emphasized the need for a cordial working relationship, warning against internal rancor, hatred, and backbiting politics.
Also speaking at the event, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim Kanah, underscored the importance of teamwork and peaceful coexistence among the new party leaders.
He noted that the party’s success in the 2027 general elections would depend largely on their ability to attract more members at the grassroots level.
He urged them to make the party “a home for the masses” and avoid bitterness and division, which could undermine PDP’s chances in the coming polls.
In her remarks, the representative of the State PDP Chairman, Bello Hamza Madagali, Madam Mary Javan, charged the new executives to work tirelessly to make Shelleng a PDP stronghold ahead of 2027.
She advised them to abide by the party’s constitution, uphold loyalty, and avoid acts that could undermine the party’s unity at both local and state levels.
Former Shelleng Council Chairman, Hon. Yawale, also commended the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, describing them as “a testament to PDP’s commitment to good governance.”
He called on Shelleng residents to continue supporting the governor’s administration to attract more dividends of democracy to the area.
