Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on the good people of Adamawa to remain calm, peaceful and resilient.following the purported illegal declaration of Adamawa gubernatorial election,

The Governor in a statewide Broadcast said he believes, the president will not shy away from the act of injustice, calling on him to make decision bearing in mind that his emergence was through a due process of electoral values in the country.

The Governor described the illegal announcement of Aishatu Binani of All Progressives Congress (APC) by merchants of anarchy headed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner – Mallam Hudu Yunusa Ari, who since the beginning of the election is bent on pushing the collective patience of the people to its limit.

The action he noted is no doubt provocative, but in this situation,he appealed for calm as always assuring that as their leader he will ensure NOBODY thwarts their democratic rights.

He commended the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for demonstrating its umpire status by first distancing itself from the act of the REC and assuring that the right thing will be done.

He thanked Adamawa people for their resilience and resolve to not only exercise their democratic rights but to also protect it stating that government is on its oars until justice is done.

The Governor noted that the world is watching the enemies of democracy at the height of their shameless brigandage charged the people not to take the law into their hands but peacefully await the next directive from INEC believing that they do know that the integrity of the Commission is on test.
