The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Adamawa has urged unemployed persons to take advantage of the ongoing registration across the 21 local government areas of the state toward reducing unemployment.
Malam Ibrahim Jimada, the NDE state Coordinator, made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday in Yola.
He said that the exercise commenced on April 27, and it would last to May 5, across the LGAs of the state.
“The NDE in its continued effort toward reducing unemployment and obtaining accurate data on unemployment in the country, is currently on registration of unemployed persons across the 21 LGAs of Adamawa State.
“We urge all the unemployed persons in Adamawa to take advantage of this exercise to register themselves in their designated LGAs to benefit from the programme.
“The Federal Government wants to have actual statistic of the unemployed persons in the country for proper planning,’’ he said.
According to him, the accurate data will help the directorate play a vital role with respect to reducing unemployment in the state and county at large.
