A drunk man identified as Sadiq Ahmed has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 7 year old girl.
39 years old Sadiq of Abuja road in Yola South LGA, confessed defiling the minor of the same address on the 12th June, 2023.
Narrating the incident at the police headquarters on Tuesday, the accused said that he had perpetrated the crime while he was drunk with corn juice (Burukutu).
While confessing,Sadiq noted that he only took corn juice and deeply regretted defiling the little girl.
The spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the arrest, saying that the suspect was nabbed following a complaint by the father of the victim.
The father informed the police that the suspect came to his house while they were away and gave his daughter the sum of N10 and subsequently defiled her.
Meanwhile SP Nguroje explained that the command Commissioner of Police, AfolabI Babatola had expressed concern over the incident and has vowed to ensure the prosecution of the suspect.
