Jubilation As Engr. Bashir Gegu Resumes Office As Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Mineral & Natural Resources

…Promises To Generate More Revenue To The State Through The Ministry

It was Jubilation galore as the Management and Staff of the Kogi State Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources celebrated the return of the Pioneer Commissioner of the Ministry, Engr. Abubakar Muhammed Bashir Gegu.

Engr. Bashir Gegu who served as the Commissioner of the Ministry during the tenure of the immediate Governor of the State, H.E Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello was reappointed by the new Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and was returned to the Ministry to serve again.

During his first meeting with the Management and Staff of the Ministry, the Commissioner appreciated Allah for the privilege given him to serve with them again and commended them for their cooperation during his first tenure.

He extended his unreserved appreciation to the immediate Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello for his efforts at giving him a platform to serve under his administration and for facilitating his reappointment, promising that he will not let him down.

The Commissioner said his reappointment by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo – the fifth Executive Governor of Kogi State was a greater call to service, describing it as a rare opportunity.

Haven served in the same capacity Under GYB, Engr. Bashir Gegu promised to double his efforts at ensuring that the Ministry generates more revenue to the State IGR.

He pointed that Kogi State is blessed with abundant Natural Resources, promising that more will be done to ensure they are harnessed for the betterment of the people, the State and the Country at large.

Hon. Bashir Gegu said the Ministry will ensure that some revenues meant to be channeled to the Ministry are properly channeled, stressing that he will also ensure that each Local Government Areas of the State are well labeled with the Natural Resources that can be found in them.

To those involved in ILLEGAL MINING in the State, the Commissioner said the long hands of the law will catch up with them as he will not rest on his oars at ensuring they are apprehended and explore all legal means to pay for their actions.

He however said the State is open for business, calling on those who are into Mining to come to the State and do business, stressing that all the needed documents for engagement will be given to them without delay.

Those who spoke at the meeting appreciated the Commissioner for his efforts at moving the Ministry to the next level and promised to work harder and smarter to achieve greater results.
