NIOB Celebrates Day: Sensitize Students On Building Construction

The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) Adamawa State Chapter  has sensitized students of Government Day Secondary School Luggere (GDSSL), Yola-North for a catch them young project to mark 2024 Builders’ Day with a theme “The role of builders in sustainable housing and the campaign”.

The Day begins on March 11, kicks-off with a week-long activities with a median dinner and award night to celebrate and appreciate the effort made by some distinguished members of the profession and from the media space.

In his address, Buldr Solomon M. Soji, chapter chairman advised the students to concentrate on their studies to become great in future.

He enlightened the student to understand that the profession required courses to pass before gaining admission to higher institutions.

Addressing the students, The CORBON Council member representing North-East, Bldr Abdulhamid Isa Yiwari encouraged the students as future leaders to study and to also equipped themselves with entrepreneurship skills and trade for self sustenance as the world today is encouraging youth to be self made.

Bldr. Alvary A. Durkwa, NIOB State Chapter Secretary encouraged the students to pay rapid attention as the aim of the program is to broaden their understanding choosing their choice of course and also considering studying building construction in higher institutions as it is a lucrative course.

He also encouraged female student’s to study the course.

Bldr. Charles Adamu Balami encouraged the students to study building as it is a lucrative and self-employed course.

He listed the institutions that offer building as a course and the requirement to gain admission to the schools that offer building.

In response to the professionals, Mr Danladi Adamu Principal GDSS Luggere appreciated NIOB for choosing their school for the sensitization.

According to him, the visit is timely and the information will enlighten the students in making future decisions for career development.
