The Adamawa State Police Command has on the 3rd June 2024 arrested two out of five armed robbers who has been terrorizing motorists along the Numan/Lafiya road that Connects Adamawa and Gombe States.
The Command Public Relations Officer,SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje in a press release stated that the suspects, identified as Bello Siddiki (aged 31) and Hammadu Saidu (aged 25), both residents of Sabewa Borrong, in Demsa Local Government, were apprehended by the Command Operatives attached to the State Intelligence Department, Yola.
Nguroje further detailed that their arrest followed a thorough investigation that was carried out following the directives of the Commissioner of Police.
These criminals are involved in multiple attacks on motorists along the Highway, including the recent robbery of a Sienna Bus conveying passengers from Abuja to Yola, including one Hassan Kwaji, during which they attacked and robbed them of their handsets and other valuables.
Items recovered from the suspects include two machetes, a knife, a handset, and a SIM card, believed to have been used in the commission of their crimes.
Meanwhile the suspects will be charged to court to face the full consequences of their actions.
