The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a suspected armed robber, Zephaniah Alfred, aged 29, in Zangun, Numan Local Government Area, describing the development as another major success in the ongoing crackdown on violent crime across the state.

The arrest was triggered by a complaint from one Ibrahim Maikano, who alleged that Alfred had issued death threats against him. Acting swiftly on the report, operatives fro

m the Numan Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), arrested the suspect, who had long been on the Command’s wanted list for a series of armed robbery operations along the Numan-Gombe Road and surrounding areas.

A search conducted at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of several incriminating items, including, one locally made pistol, two live AK-47 ammunition, one live pistol round, one live cartridge, apair of military camouflage trousers, four military camouflage caps, two military camouflage T-shirts, and one black torchlight

According to the police, the recovered items are being treated as exhibits, while investigations are ongoing.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, assured residents of the Command’s continued efforts to collaborate with the 23 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Yola to dismantle criminal networks and ensure the safety of communities across the state.

As of the time of this report, the suspect remains in custody and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
