Army rescues seven kidnap victims in Taraba State


Troops of 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have rescued seven kidnapped victims along Chinkai-Kente-Wukari road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

In a statement by the Brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Umar Muh.

Mm mmammad disclosed that the victims were abducted on the 3rd of August 2025.

The statement noted that during the operation, troops encountered the kidnappers, and due to sustained pressure, the kidnappers abandoned their victims and fled.

According to the statement, four victims were found unharmed in Chinkai Forest on August 5, while the remaining three female victims were rescued on August 6 in Owedi Community, Wukari Local Government Area.

The Commander of 6 Brigade, Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their dedication, describing the operation as a major success in the fight against criminality.

He reaffirmed the Brigade’s resolve to sustain aggressive operations to curb kidnapping and safeguard lives and property across the state.
