NUJ Congratulates Adamawa Speaker on Traditional Title Conferment

The Adamawa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitates with the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, following his conferment as Okwuruora Ndi Igbo Adamawa State.
In a statement issued in Yola, the Union described the honour as a testament to Speaker Wesley’s unifying leadership, humility, and dedication to public service.
The NUJ highlighted his reputation as a bridge-builder and advocate of peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic and religious communities within the state.
The title Okwuruora Ndi Igbo, meaning “Voice of the Igbo People,” recognizes the Speaker’s strong relationship with the Igbo community in Adamawa and underscores his commitment to fostering harmony, mutual understanding, and development across cultural lines.
The NUJ commended Rt. Hon. Wesley for his inclusive approach to governance and urged him to continue upholding the values of integrity, fairness, and justice that have defined his leadership. The Union also reaffirmed its support for the Adamawa State House of Assembly in promoting good governance, accountability, and development in the state.
