Adamawa ADC inaugurates new executive

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Adamawa State chapter has inaugurated a new state executive team, with notable political figures in attendance, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal, former Governor Jibrilla Bindow, Senator Abdul Aziz Nyako, and Senator Cliff Abbo.
During the inauguration, Babachir David Lawal expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, saying the ADC can win in Adamawa if its members work cohesively.
He criticized the previous executive for abandoning the party and announced the formation of a new transition committee headed by Barrister Sadiq Dasin, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives and former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Lawal added that it was necessary for Comrade Shehu Yohanna to step down as party chairman due to an ongoing leadership dispute, paving the way for fresh leadership.
Former Governor Bindow Jibrilla praised the party’s potential, urging Adamawa residents to join the ADC under the leadership of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Senator Abdul Aziz Nyako described the ADC as “the party to beat” in any contest in Adamawa State, while Senator Cliff Abbo highlighted the party’s status as the main opposition at the federal level. Abbo criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for its collaboration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the ADC is better positioned to safeguard Nigerians’ fundamental rights in the 2027 elections.
The inauguration marks a renewed effort to strengthen the ADC in Adamawa State ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
