By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola

The Acting Commander of Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), and Commander of 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, has reaffirmed the military’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all law-abiding residents, including personnel of humanitarian organizations operating within the sector’s area of responsibility.

Brigadier General Agwu gave the assurance on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, during a courtesy visit by the Head of Sub-Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mubi, Mr. Chadi Sidhom, to the Headquarters of 23 Brigade.

He assured the ICRC of the sector’s continued cooperation and support, stressing that Sector 4 OPHK places high priority on the security of United Nations-affiliated agencies, non-governmental organizations, and all law-abiding residents in the area.

He further encouraged the ICRC to maintain open communication with the sector during the course of its operations, noting that the military would continue to provide an enabling and secure environment for humanitarian activities.

Earlier, Mr. Sidhom commended the sector for its efforts in providing security to the people of Adamawa State and its environs. He explained that the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing cordial working relationship between ICRC Mubi and Sector 4 OPHK, as well as formally introducing himself as the new Head of Sub-Delegation in Mubi.

The visit featured the signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph to commemorate the engagement.
