The management of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, MAUTH, Yola, Adamawa state has issued a disclaimer notice cautioning the members of the public to be aware of a social media fraudster parading himself as the chief medical director of the hospital, he intends to defraud gullible members of the public with offers of employments, contracts and monetary requests.
The press release Friday, issued by the staff with Information and Media Relations Department of the Hospital, Mrs Amina Mohammed Ahmed revealed that “the attention of the management of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, MAUTH Yola, Adamawa state has been drawn to fictitious Facebook and Linkedin accounts fraudulently created bearing the name and pictures of the CMD, Prof Auwal M. Abubakar”.
The management explained that the accounts are dubiously created with the intent to defraud gullible members of the public by introducing them job opportunities, contracts and monetary requests.
The management said, “Although Prof. Auwal has a personal Facebook and Linkedin accounts but at no time has he used them to transact any form of business or solicit undue favors from members of the public.
“While reports have been made to the appropriate authorities and investigations are ongoing, members of the public are by this notice, advised to disregard any form of communication from such accounts or draw the attention of the Hospital or any relevant authority to the activities of such mischievous persons”.
