The former commissioner for information and strategy, in Gombe State, Hon Ishaya Lepes has joined the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP.)
Ishaya was the first Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development and later information and strategy in the government of Yahaya.
Ishaya, a founding member of the APC in the state, joined NNPP after meeting its gubernatorial candidate, Khamisu Mailantarki.
He told newsmen that he defected to the NNPP “after a wide consultation with my followers and lovers across the state,” adding: “both APC and PDP have failed the people, hence the need for a fresh breath.”
Ishaya who immediately joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) alleged that “after joining the PDP, the leadership of the party sidelined me and my supporters from all affairs despite being a critical stakeholder and ex-commissioner in the state.
“I have consulted wisely and widely too with my followers, admirers, friends and families, who felt we should pitch our tent with NNPP to join this party and to work rescue our state from the neglect and bad governance of the APC.”
