The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State has commenced distribution of sensitive materials to various Local Government Areas ahead of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
INEC took delivery of the sensitive and non-sensitive materials on Thursday from the Central Bank of Nigeria where they were being kept.
The electoral materials were distributed to 21 LGAs in Adamawa ahead of Saturday’s election
Adamawa state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr. Hudu Yunusa, led the process and monitored by representatives of respective political parties.
According to him, so far, 9 LGAs have collected their materials and waiting for others to come, while assuring that all necessary preparations have been put in place against Saturday’s exercise.
Meanwhile ,INEC Electoral Officers from the LGAs and various stakeholders including security operatives were on the ground to monitor the process of distribution.
The INEC Boss Hudu Yunusa while addressing newsmen noted that the rounds in some quarters that a contract for the printing of sensitive materials was awarded to Binani Printing Press, owned by APC Governorship Candidate, Aishatu Binani.
