The Senator for Gombe State Central zone, Alhaji Danjuma Goje, has been expelled by his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC.)
The Chairman APC in his Kashere ward, Tanimu Abdullahi announced the suspension to newsmen yesterday.
He alleged the Senator of committing ten offences including failure to grace the flag off of APC’s governorship campaign and general anti-party activities.
According to the APC leadership, it was shameful that the former governor couldn’t win his ward for the party at the just held governorship and Presidential polls.
Tanimu said the serving senator’s popularity could have earned victory for the party, “if only he had considered and meant well for APC during the elections.
“For this, we the APC executives at the Kashere ward don’t see any need to keep him in the party, he is hereby expelled for anti-party activities,” Tanimu said.
The expulsion was however signed by 31-member executives including four state officials.
For almost a month now, Senator Goje has been having running battle with his party and some members across the senatorial zone for allegedly working the party and sponsoring governorship candidate of opposition party at the just held governorship poll.
