Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a couple for allegedly torturing an 11 years old orphan.
In a statement by the command police public relations officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated that the suspects were apprehended on the 12th May, 2023.
According to the image marker of the command, the accused identified as Kamal Idris 24, and his wife, Ambasiya Idris, 19, reside at Wuro Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area.
He explained that the couple frequently and willfully tortured Fahad Abdulkarim, under their custody as a result of which he sustained grievous injury.
He noted that the command apprehended them following a report and rescued the innocent child, saying that the boy was rushed to hospital and currently receiving treatment.
“The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, frowned at the inhuman treatment meted on the little boy by his guardians who happened to his uncle and aunty”. He disclosed.
meanwhile the has command vowed to ensure the prosecution of the culprits to serve as deterrence to others, and urged the public to give timely information to the police for effective policing and service delivery.
