POLICE OFFICER GRUESOMELY MURDERED FOR BREAKING POT OF SOUP IN ADAMAWA

Adamawa State Police Command has successfully arrested 2 persons in connection to the gruesome murder of a police officer identified as Ibrahim Maizabuwa.

The suspects arrested include Ezekiel Kefas, 67 and Stephen Zabadi, 44, and both hail from Wamsa Suwa Ward in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The Image maker of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the arrested and stated that the suspects were apprehended on the 19th November, 2024.

He further detailed that the son of the deceased, Danlami Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who hails from Gombe state reported the matter to the police command.

“Our investigation reveals that the deceased is a police officer and works in Gombe State. He visited his friend, Ezekiel Kefas, who resides at Wamsa Suwa. He was killed and buried in the community”. Explained SP Nguroje.

Meanwhile interrogation the suspect, Kefas said “My friend came and started destroying properties including pots of soup and water in my house and assaulting people as a result of which women and children raised alarm which attracted thugs who beat him up to death.

“Those who killed include Yakubu, Suleiman and Kilyobas. The beat him up with sticks to death. Yesterday, we went to the houses of those who killed, but we didn’t meet anyone of them”. Narrated Ezekiel.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo, had ordered for discreet investigation and prosecution of the suspects as he used the opportunity to call on the good people of the state to stay away from crime and report any suspected movement around their vicinity.
