NPF Dismantles Criminal Syndicates, Recovers Firearms, and Rescues Kidnap Victims

The Nigeria Police Force, has continued to achieved significant milestones in its strategic efforts to combat crime across the nation.

As part of its commitment to protecting lives and property, the Force has successfully dismantled several criminal syndicates, recovering 134 firearms and 1,012 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, and rescuing 302 kidnapped victims.

In a press briefing held at the Force Intelligence Bureau – Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT) headquarters, police operatives highlighted key successes in crime prevention and enforcement.

These include the arrest of 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 murder suspects, 34 individuals involved in unlawful possession of firearms, 77 rape suspects, and 110 suspected cultists.

Additionally, the Force recovered 73 firearms, 310 rounds of ammunition, 56 stolen vehicles, and rescued 22 kidnapping victims across the country.

Notable arrests included Muhammed Kabir (36) and his accomplices, Donald Okpere and Haruna Ibrahim, who were impersonating military personnel and defrauding victims of millions of naira using fake bank alerts.

Another success was the apprehension of Sunday Okwo Ade, Monday Solomon, David Emmanuel, and Shakiru Badmus, who specialized in stealing motorcycles from farmers in Lagos and Ogun states. Fifteen stolen motorcycles were recovered from this gang.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reiterated the Force’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property.

He emphasized that the police remain committed to creating a safe and secure environment for citizens to carry out their daily activities without fear.

The IGP, in a statement made available to journalists, through the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi,
assured the public that the Nigeria Police Force will continue to pursue criminal elements and ensure justice is served according to the nation’s laws.
