The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adamawa Sector Command, on Tuesday carried out a special Ember Months safety operation in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Yola Office, as part of efforts to reduce road traffic crashes during the festive season
The operation, which took place on December 24, 2025, along the Welcome to Yola Gate, was led by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Abdulmaliq Dama Bello. It was aimed at promoting safer driving habits, enhancing road safety awareness, and curbing traffic violations associated with increased vehicular movement during the Yuletide period.
Officers of the FRSC and NEMA engaged motorists in on-the-spot sensitization, educating them on the dangers of speeding, overloading, reckless and drunk driving, as well as the importance of using seat belts.
Motorists were also advised to ensure their vehicles were roadworthy and to strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
As part of the campaign, the Sector Commander distributed FRSC-branded bottled water to motorists, encouraging them to stay hydrated, remain alert, and avoid fatigue while on the road.
The exercise recorded positive cooperation from motorists, many of whom commended the agencies for their proactive measures to ensure safer highways during the festive season.
The FRSC Adamawa Sector Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustained enforcement, public education, and collaboration with sister agencies to achieve zero tolerance for road traffic crashes throughout the Ember Months and beyond.
