NLCA Registers Agro-Processing Enterprise to Boost Local Sourcing and Export Capacity

Nigeria Local Coalition Accelerator has announced the successful registration of Local Coalition Agro Processing and Export Services, marking a significant milestone in its 2026 strategic drive toward resource mobilisation and local sourcing through social enterprise development.
The newly established enterprise has been formally registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. According to NLCA leadership, the development represents a major step toward strengthening the coalition’s long-term financial sustainability through a locally driven business model.
The initiative is being implemented in partnership with Kahyel Integrated Services Limited, a technical and consulting firm based in Yola, Adamawa State.
Infrastructure and Equipment in Place
Through pooled contributions from members under the NLCA Multipurpose Cooperative Society, the coalition has procured and installed key production assets, including, a groundnut oil processing machine with a capacity of five tons per day or more, a peanut processing machine.
Others are, an operational office space,
a dedicated production centre, and a storage facility located within the Kahyel Integrated Services premises.
The coalition confirmed that its social enterprise has already rolled out its first batch of groundnut oil and processed peanut products, which are now available for testing.
To ensure effective oversight and operational success, NLCA has constituted an Enterprise Development Committee comprising two representatives from each member organisation. The committee will provide governance, strategic direction, and operational support for the enterprise.
As part of efforts to ensure compliance with national quality standards and position the enterprise for global markets, NLCA has commenced registration and engagement with key federal institutions, including,
Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), Yola, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC),
Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), Nigerian Council of Food Science and Technology (NiCFoST).
NLCA leadership noted that these engagements are critical to meeting regulatory standards, improving product quality, and strengthening export readiness.
Looking ahead, the coalition revealed plans to expand operations to include a modern bread bakery. The proposed expansion is expected to generate employment opportunities, increase income streams, strengthen local food systems, and reinforce NLCA’s institutional sustainability.
NLCA Coordinator Sir Richard Inyamkume described the development as a demonstration of “the power of local leadership, cooperative resource mobilisation, and strategic partnerships in building sustainable African solutions.”
The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to building a thriving agro-processing and export enterprise capable of contributing to economic development, job creation, and community resilience — with sustainability beyond donor funding as a central objective.
