Security Agencies Sweep Mubi Communities, Arrest 73 Suspected Criminals

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 73 suspects during a joint security operation targeting criminal hideouts and black spots in Mubi and surrounding communities.
According to a statement issued on May 6 by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the operation was carried out in collaboration with other security agencies following complaints from residents and intelligence reports on criminal activities in the area.
Security operatives reportedly raided identified hideouts and black spots, leading to the arrest of suspects linked to offences including drug-related crimes, house-to-house robbery and other violent crimes.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Umar Hassan, said the operation reflects the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
He stated that the crackdown forms part of ongoing proactive measures aimed at ensuring that no part of the state becomes a safe haven for criminal elements.
The police command also commended residents and other security agencies for their cooperation and support, urging members of the public to continue providing timely information to aid effective policing.
Authorities said the suspects are currently undergoing screening and investigation, after which those found culpable will be charged to court in accordance with the law.
