ACTING COMMANDER REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SECURITY IN ADAMAWA, STRESSES AGENCY SYNERGY

The Acting Commander of Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai and Commander of the 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, has reiterated the military’s dedication to ensuring robust security across Adamawa State and its environs.
Brigadier General Agwu made the declaration during courtesy visits to the Headquarters of the 23 Brigade on Friday, January 16, 2026, by the Comptroller of Immigration for Adamawa State, CI Sani Jega, and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Adamawa State Peace Commission (ASPC), Dr. Jemila Suleman.
Describing the security situation in the state as relatively calm and under control, Brigadier General Agwu commended the collaborative efforts of all security agencies operating in Adamawa. He also praised the state government for its cooperation and support toward security operations.
He assured both visitors of the sector’s continued backing, emphasizing that the military would sustain support for agencies in safeguarding lives and properties.
In his remarks, CI Sani Jega lauded the sector’s enhanced coordination among security agencies, noting the brigade’s pivotal role in fostering a secure environment across the state. He also requested additional support from the sector, particularly along border areas, to facilitate smoother operations for immigration officers.
Dr. Jemila Suleman, Executive Vice Chairman of the ASPC, explained that the visit aimed to strengthen the link between security agencies and peacebuilding efforts. She stressed the importance of maintaining cordial relationships with the military to enhance the commission’s effectiveness in promoting peace across Adamawa.
Dr. Suleiman further noted that the ASPC was established in July 2025 and appealed for continued support from the Sector and Brigade for the successful execution of its mandate.
