Police Day 2026: Adamawa CP Charges Officers on Diligence, Service

The Nigeria Police Force in Adamawa State has called on its officers to uphold professionalism and dedication as part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day.
Speaking during the celebration in Yola, the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, urged officers and men of the command to work diligently and embrace exemplary policing in the discharge of their duties.
The event, themed “Together We Walk, Together We Secure,” featured a Police Day Walkathon on its second day, where officers marched peacefully through the streets of Yola to commemorate the occasion and promote unity and public trust.
Addressing personnel after the walk, CP Hassan commended them for their resilience and commitment, noting that their conduct reflects readiness to confront prevailing security challenges in the state. He emphasized the need for officers to lead by example, encouraging behavior that would inspire others to willingly join the force.
The commissioner further reminded officers that their primary responsibility is the protection of lives and property, urging them to remain focused on this mandate at all times.
The week-long celebration began on March 30 with a sanitation exercise led by the commissioner and officers, who cleaned parts of Yola metropolis. 
The command was observed to have also carried out outreach activities, including visits to the sick and vulnerable within the community. Other programmes are scheduled to continue throughout the week.
