Vunobolki Declares Adamawa Governorship Ambition, Calls for Transparent APC Primaries

By Ojoma Yusuf,Yola

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Morris Vunobolki, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, urging party leaders to ensure a transparent and credible primary process.

Vunobolki made the घोषणा on Tuesday at the Yola Conference Centre, where a large crowd of party supporters, political associates, traditional rulers, youth groups, and other stakeholders gathered.

Addressing the audience, the aspirant stressed the need for purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and accelerated development across the state. He said his decision to join the race was driven by a deep passion for the people of Adamawa and a commitment to improving their welfare.

He outlined his policy priorities to include economic revitalization, infrastructure development, improved education, better healthcare delivery, and youth empowerment. According to him, the state’s abundant human and natural resources must be effectively harnessed to achieve sustainable growth.

Vunobolki also underscored the importance of unity within the APC, calling on members to close ranks and work together ahead of the primary. He noted that only a united party could secure electoral victory and deliver meaningful transformation for the state.

Political observers say his entry adds a new dimension to the contest within the APC, where the race for the party’s governorship ticket is expected to be highly competitive among several aspirants.

Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism about his candidacy, describing him as an experienced leader with the capacity to deliver development and effective governance. However, analysts caution that securing the party’s ticket will depend on strong grassroots support, strategic alliances, and significant political backing.

As political activities begin to gather momentum, the build-up to the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State is gradually taking shape, setting the stage for what is expected to be a closely contested race.
